Wrote up a retrospective and summary of the finals for Chainguard Vibelympics, our first vibe coding tournament. This was a competition with three rounds of supply-chain challenges, judged on security, functionality, code quality, and vibes. Jon Ceanfaglione (IBM) took the top $1,000 charity prize (Girls Who Code Tampa) for his Supply Chain Roaster, with Daisy Hollman (Anthropic), Guy Podjarny, and Dan Lorenc judging the finals.
Honestly, Vibelympics was a fun one, I enjoyed doing dev-focused setup, refining the competition ideas (app with only emojis in the interface was funny), and MCing the finals. I also graded the entries with a combo of a multiagent setup and old-fashioned discussion with the team.
